From December 11-13, 2017 the LISTO consortium met for the first time in Porto Alegre, Brazil to get to know each other and plan the agenda for the three years ahead. We were hosted by the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and its tech-transfer office SEDETEC. The group included participants from all 10 LISTO partner universities as well as from our associate partners Agencia Nacional de Investigación e Innovación (ANII), Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation (MINCyT), Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos (FINEP), Federation of Industries of Rio Grande do Sul State (FIERGS) as well as the Swedish Embassy in Brazil.
During the course of three days, the participants presented their home universities and the local entrepreneurship and innovation eco-system. In addition, two panel discussions aimed at creating some common understanding by bringing together European and Latin American perspectives on innovation and entrepreneurship, and the role of universities and national /government agencies in the area. The main activity of the meeting were three group work session dedicated to preparing and planning the three development work packages which form the core of the LISTO project:
WP 2 – University-Industry Relations
WP 3 – Teaching Entrepreneurship
WP 4 – Entrepreneurial Universities
In addition, the consortium discussed relevant internal/external stakeholders of the project and how to reach them which will inform the dissemination and communication strategy of LISTO. Some of the participant used Twitter to spread the news about our project and the meeting using the hashtag #listoproject.
